Research for Music Video: Pitch Simulation activity

We were put into groups in class and had to pretend to be a small independent music video production company that were asked to pitch for the job of producing a video for a new song. We were given the song lyrics and were also allowed to listen to the song once. We had a short time to plan an idea for the type of music video we thought would fit with the concept of the song.

SONG- A rainy night in Soho by Shance Macgowan

We decided to use the DISJUNCTURE idea from Goodwins theory's.
Concept for video-relationship, love, romance (man admiring a woman)
Location- Bedroom & on the streets of London
Artist image- White male, vintage style, vans, t-shirt
Target audience-20 +

Some of the lyrics:
I've been loving you a long time
Down all the years, down all the days
And I've cried for all your troubles
Smiled at your funny little ways
We watched our friends grow up together
And we saw them as they fell
Some of them fell into Heaven
Some of them fell into Hell

I took shelter from a shower
And I stepped into your arms
On a rainy night in Soho
The wind was whistling all its charms
I sang you all my sorrows
You told me all your joys
Whatever happened to that old song
To all those little girls and boys
