I done some research into what type of lighting, camera angles and mise-en-scene my group will need in our music video to appeal to my target audience. I have read a few online articles and comments that have helped to identify the following conventions that are typical of a dubstep genre music video:
- Bright lightening, (disco balls, glow sticks) maybe flashing lights.
- Dancing
- Young people
- Dark atmosphere
- Alcohol, smoking
- Skating/graffiti
I think we would need to incorporate these elements into our music video so that our audience is familiar and recognizes the genre.
