Tutorial on editing techniques

When we filmed the girls faces last week we then realised that the backgrounds often changed colour because of the lighten outside which reflected on the wall. We then wanted to find a way to make the background the same or near enough colour, we thought that making the background blurred would enhance the image of the girls more and make it stand out much more.
Example of the backgrounds.
However we have had feedback saying it is not much of a problem and it still looks really good.
This is an example of a blurry background
We then found a youtube tutorial on how to blur backgrounds, logo's or images on Final Cut Pro. This helped us and we may follow this technique for our music video.
