Production of Music Video; Skills development

Skills Development

The difference between my planning for this project compared to my As project is the use of time. This year we spent a short amount of time (enough to get us started) on the research, this was the same with the planning. Our planning took the most attention because we had an idea of what we wanted to do but we where unaware of how to put it together. We came in and explained our ideas to a teacher, who told us that what we where hoping to produce would be hard work. This was very helpful, something which I didnt take the initiative to do last year. Speaking to the teacher put our planning on track and kept us on a time schedule that allowed us enough time to film and edit. In AS we my group and I did not spent enough time on the filming and the editing, most of our time was taken by our research. As a group this year we work efficiently with the time that we are given and go away individually and give feed back. My group and I use each other's strengths to benefit the final outcome, we also allow each other to partake a different role with the support of the group. We have also taken a look at a number of videos that posses different ideas of edits and narratives we are looking to follow. By doing this we are able to see a possible outcome. As a part of out planning we have also produced edit videos; where we show an idea of edits we might use. This helped us decide if it will work well with our video or not, it also allowed us an opportunity to get some teacher feedback.
