(Research) Reflecting back on the AS year ; New skills learnt with Lip sync task

During our summer lessons we learnt how use final cut pro to add lip sync to video.
Our 1st task was to create a music video with a pre-made audio and clip.

  • Importing the video clips and audio
  • Learning how to find a mark for both the audio and video clip ( easiest would be the 1st change to the beat, or when the singer's voice comes in)
  • Matching the mark on audio with the mark on all the video clips ; this is usually done one video to avoid complication and locking and silencing the others. Doing this I had to listen out to hear if the sound on the audio matched the sound from the clip, when satisfied I moved on to do the next clip and so on.
  • Once all marks are matched up I had to edit the video this is done by creating another set of marks for when you might like to add transactions form one clip to another (usually done when the beat drops, a faster song would have fast transactions compared to a slow one)
  • After doing so we learnt how to cut the parts of the clip that we did not need
In our Thriller groups we where then set a task to create a music video. We used the same method in creating the lip sync, with my group we used the college computers to project the audio and lyrics for our video because we where not 100% about the lyrics. We filmed 6 different clips, and 4/5 out of them had me lip syncing the song, the rest just had movement. This added to the variety of transactions we had.

Above is a screen grap of my final lip sync video in 'edit mode' on Final cut pro
